I am considering making a few custom, hand-made coarse-toothed detangling combs as presents for ladies whose hair I admire. I am seeking design input from those of you who actually use these, either on your own hair or somebody else's.
What tooth profile works best? Flat, as is common in finer-toothed combs, or round-section?
Is it best for the tooth ends to be pointed, to facilitate teasing out the lowest part of a tangle, or is it better for them to be blunter? Or are there applications for both?
What tooth length do you like? What pitch or spacing?
What about handles? I see coarse-toothed combs with and without. What are the pros and cons?
