I too find that Discord is much easier to use, is more popular, and doesn't require a phone number for registration. Good for keeping things private from our usual accounts.

It's interesting how Russian and Chinese platforms like Telegram, VK, Baidu, Tieba etc. all require real phone numbers for user verification and registration. I heard Tieba even requires a real Chinese national ID card.
