I lived there for many years and have traveled all over the country. I know that bridge to Burma in the picture. I knew a girl many years ago whose face looks very much like your wife. She was from the NorthEast - Korat I think. She ate much hotter food than other Thais, and she called the food "Lao food". I assumed that she was ethnically Lao and her ancestors moved across the Mekong a generation or so ago.

By the way, I married a lovely long haired flower of the East as well. I really do not understand why more guys do not marry Asian girls. They certainly take care of their men the way other girls cannot or will not. There is nothing more beautiful than long black hair on a slim Asian angel.
