I don't care about the hotlink, as long as you guys keep it cool and relaxed.

however, if you slap 50+ hotlinks on one page, then I'd have to take measures.

I've seen an idiot who hotlinked 1400 images on his one page, so I built a special jpeg for him, funny as hell, I can imagine his shock upon discovery.
