I did take phones in to account, so I'm wondering what type of devices you guys use.

Here is a comparison between a medium.com article, which has a font-size of 21px, kinkyforums.com which has a smaller font-size of 19px and google.com, which has a font-size of 14px. To me the medium articles look best, but I'm guessing that would be unreadable for you guys? The font size on Google is too small for reading full pages. Even google themselves use bigger fonts on article pages, see the last screenshot of developer pages where they use 18px.

Please double check if you have your browser's zoom set to 100%. Previously the font was really really tiny, it was set at 10px, so I can imagine that at some point you had increased the zoom on your browser and forgot about it.
