Marianne lives (or at least used to live) in one of Germany´s biggest cities just an hour by car from my place.

I would simply assume that she had a child (which could have been the "exciting news") and became so busy raising it and working that she had to withdraw from the long-hair community. Perhaps there were also problems giving birth, or the baby needed much more care than expected.

All of this is just pure speculation; I don´t know anything really.

But rest assured that most people´s lives do not run smoothly, no matter what facade they try to keep up. Do not let yourself be fooled by what things look from the outside.

Let us just quietly accept her well-deserved withdrawal into privacy as she has given us so much joy for years.

That said, I regret her withdrawal deeply. What an absolutely incredibly natural beauty, with hair to die for.
