Re: Iconic concert

This is an almost perfect example of what a professional musician once told me: There are so many excellent, excellent musicians of all kinds in the USA that you can just hire them for tours on the basis of the picture you want on stage: a blonde singer with long hair, another one with short, dark hair (or dark complexion), and whatever appeal you need to meet just about all (male) tastes. The music itself will always be phantastic, regardless what looks you choose, anyway.

Although I don´t doubt that the longhaired blonde can really sing, you sense right away that she was picked for her looks and was told to flaunt that mane whenever possible.

An experience of a great, stunningly beautiful, and very longhaired singer herself was the late Nicolette Larson, gone all too soon (30 years ago almost to this day, if my memory is correct) - and of course, I never got to see her live. But I swooned over her pics countless times.
